Bubba’s Hovercraft

Golf carts haven’t changed much over the years.

They look and feel the same. What if there was a way to improve the traditional golf cart concept and take away some of the limitations?

That is what Bubba Watson and Oakley set out to do. They created the world’s first hovercraft golf cart.

Using hovercraft technology, the BW1 is able to glide over any terrain, including grass, sand, and water.

Fan favorite Bubba Watson and Oakley teamed up for this project called “Bubba’s Hover,” a hovercraft golf cart that won’t tear up the course and speeds right over water hazards and sand traps.

Watch this intriguing clip:

Despite its proximity to April Fool’s Day, this video of Bubba Watson riding around in a hovercraft golf cart appears to be legit.

By legit, I mean that such a device exists, not that you should expect to see Bubba cruising around Amen Corner in it.

And it certainly won’t be coming soon to your local course to hover noisily around 18 holes.

The video serves as an advertisement for Oakley and shouldn’t get your hopes up about a fundamental shift in golf cart manufacturing.

Bubba’s craft appears to be very real, a modified version of an actual hovercraft that’s manufactured for both personal and professional purposes.

The expert in the video is Chris Fitzgerald, president of Neoteric Hovercraft Inc., an Indiana-based company. Similar models on the company’s website retail for more than $20,000.

Cool idea, but seniors would have some real trouble getting in and out of this thing since there aren’t any doors.

Best video quote: “My balls like to go in and out of the woods” Nice one Bubba.

See you on the first tee…
