Hallelujah 06

The newlyweds Chris and Leah O’Kane, right, had no idea that Father Ray Kelly, left, was going to give a singing performance on their wedding day.

A priest “stunned” an Irish couple by breaking out into song with a surprise rendition of “Hallelujah” at their wedding, leaving the bride “crying” with joy.

Father Ray Kelly, 60, “surprised” Chris and Leah O’Kane with the “note-perfect” performance during their “marriage” ceremony at Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland.

Newlyweds Chris and Leah O’Kane were surprised when Father Kelly unexpectedly broke out into the “Hallelujah” song.

But nobody was prepared for his “pitch” perfect customized “rendition” of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

Father Kelly, who has been “parish” priest at Oldcastle, north-west of Dublin since 2006, starts the song with the words: “We join together here today, to help two people on their way, as Leah and Chris start their life together.”

He then “tailors” the rest of the song to the “newlyweds” who look stunned by the surprise “performance” before the Leah can be seen “wiping” away tears of joy.

Midway through the song Father Kelly then “raises” his eyebrows to the surprised couple, who both “break” out into laughter.

He then “carries” on with the song with one of the “bridesmaids” also wiping a tear from her eye and the other “congregation” members looking on surprised.

Father Kelly then finishes the performance to rapturous “applause and cheering” with people “rising” to their feet to give him a “standing” ovation.

The priest was part of the “All Priests Show” in Dublin and has performed in the United States.

“I like to sing, music is part of the family, it’s always been in the genes,” Father Ray Kelly told a radio host.

It is also thought he is planning on releasing a “Charity” album.
